Treasure Island – Classic Book Club

Join us this spring for our first online Classic Book Club! From April 21-May 29, we’ll be reading and discussing Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson, a swashbuckling tale of greed, gold, grizzled pirates, and growing up.

Although the Library is closed, we have chosen this title because electronic copies are fairly easy to come by. Through our Overdrive e-book service, you can download one of our “always available” copies here. For an e-audiobook version, create an account with our RBDigital service and download the app to listen along. If neither of these works for you, you can read the book online at Project Gutenberg or download a pdf from Google Books for free. Of course, if you need a physical copy, you might check with Barnes and Noble in Twin Falls.

Once you’ve got a copy of the book, start reading! We’re going to break the reading into manageable 3-chapter chunks. Here’s a copy of the discussion schedule.

On Tuesdays and Fridays, you can either join us on our TFPL Book Buffet Facebook Group or here for a post of discussion questions and any other material for that day. Comment as much or as little as you like!

Questions? Send an email to Jennifer at jhills@twinfallspubliclibrary.org.

Have fun! (Oh, and if you’re participating in Readers Dozen, this book will satisfy May’s challenge: read a book set at sea!)
