Readers Dozen – January

It’s a new year – a good time to charge ahead with new goals, but also a good time to revisit things left undone. Which is what we’re asking you to do for this first READERS DOZEN challenge.

If you’ve ever not finished a book, why not give it a second chance? Maybe you were busy or not in the right frame of mind. Maybe something else captured your interest, or – if you’re like some of the staff at TFPL – someone else was on hold and you needed to return the book, fully intending to get back to it someday :). Whatever the reason, dig it out, check it out, or call your sister and ask for it back!

Once you’ve completed it, don’t forget to fill out your entry form by Feb 7. And, if you want keep track in a more interesting way this year, download our flyer and color in your choices as you go.

Happy New Year and Happy Reading!

READERS DOZEN – 2024

Ready to READ in 2024? We have a great way to help you reach your reading goals this new year: our READERS DOZEN.

Each month, we’ll give you a different challenge – it could relate to a subject, an author, a setting, or even the cover – all you have to do is read a book that fits during the month of the challenge. Fill out an entry form online (or come into the Library and we’ll do it for you) by the 7th of the next month. Complete all challenges on time and you will automatically win our prize for the year. And, even if you don’t finish, you’ll get entered in our second-chance drawing for each month you completed.

So, whether you’re looking to add more reading to your year or simply need to get out of a reading rut, we’ve got you covered. Look for displays in the Library and links in our social media posts (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or here!) for ideas.

*New this year – we know some of you like to have a more tangible way of keeping track of your books, so we’ve created a paper log that lets you color as you read. Print off a copy here, or pick one up at the Reference Desk!*

Readers Dozen – December 2023

Your Readers Dozen challenge this month gives you a chance to pick up a book you might have missed this year. There are a gigantic number of “Best of” lists for 2023 to peruse, or come in and browse the New sections in the Library. Happy choosing!

Don’t forget to fill out the entry form by Jan 7 (and even if you haven’t participated all year, there’s still a second-chance drawing!).
