1809 — A Good Year

If you haven’t heard it already, 2009 is the bicentennial of Abraham Lincoln’s birth, and there are big happenings across the country for the celebration, including our own in-house display. But more on Lincoln coming in February…

It also happens to be the bicentennial of two other intriguing, change-the-world men; one who revolutionized the field of science – Charles Darwin, and another who created the genre of literature we call the detective novel – Edgar Allan Poe. So, in honor of these two men, we’ve compiled a list of books and other resources to help you get to know them better.
