Great Online Resource: TFPL’s Historical Photo Collection

If you are curious about the history of Twin Falls and the Magic Valley, or if you just like to look at old photos, you’re in for a treat! Until now, you had access to all our cool historical photos – over 10,000 – if you came inside the Library and looked through our database. But, we’ve started a project to transfer the photos and all their metadata (which is the hard part) into a new ONLINE database. Now, our community, and even those beyond, will have access to the photos without leaving home.

We’ve just started the project and have a little over 600 photos in the database as of today, but stay tuned for more each month. And, though the pictures are smaller files (in order to get them all in), you can contact us for ones with better resolution if needed.

Have fun looking through all these awesome pictures!

National Library Card Sign Up Month!

September is National Library Card Sign-Up Month and we’re on a mission to prove that your TFPL card is the most valuable one you’ve got in your wallet. And, if you don’t have one, we hope to inspire you to get one!

With that on mind, we’re running a “30 Days 30 Reasons” campaign on our social media. It’s a great opportunity to remind you about (or maybe introduce to you for the first time) all the great services and events you have access to at the Library. Check out our Facebook page or our Twitter feed to join in – and renew or get a Library card today!
